This week, French engineering student, Paul Pouplard started an 8 week summer internship with DesignPro Renewables and we are delighted to welcome him to the team!

Below is some background information on Paul and what he will be working on during his time with us.

Where and what is Paul studying?

Paul is from Angers, France and is currently studying Mechanical Design Engineering with an interest in marine renewable energy.

He is currently in between his 4th and 5th year at the renowned engineering institution in France, Arts et Métiers.

What will he be working on?

There is plenty of opportunity for Paul to get hands on experience during his internship.

Our Horizon 2020 SME Instrument project is in full swing with our 25kW device undergoing operational and environmental testing at SEENEOH in Bordeaux, France and the 60kW device currently in build phase working with Leask Marine.

Throughout the 8 weeks, Paul will be working closely with our technical team on turbine design.

Fun Fact

This is Paul’s second time in Ireland and he is an experienced wind surfer. We have plenty of wind in Ireland, so hopefully he can get out on the water during his time here!

Students are always welcome

We are always happy to welcome students to work with us on our project and to give them the opportunity to get directly involved in the marine renewable energy industry.

We invite college students to get in touch as we are always open to taking on new placement students and have potential job opportunities for strong performers. Visit our contact page for more information.

All in all, we are excited to have Paul on board with us and look forward to working with him this summer!
